The Indian School for Design of Automobiles (INDEA) was recently opened by the Xavier School of Management (XLRI). It is anticipated that this special finishing school for automotive design in India will open before the end of 2025 and operate out of the XLRI Delhi-NCR campus. In association with XLRI alumnus and automotive industry specialist Avik Chattopadhyay, INDEA, or the Indian School for Design of Automobiles, is being formed.
The faculty at INDEA will provide a variety of programs after the business opens, including a Master’s in Automobile Design & Management, refreshers for working designers, and CXO inductions. In addition, seminars, master courses, and workshops are scheduled as part of the yearly schedule. Another option would be to enroll in a course called “Automobile Restoration.”
Furthermore, following a screening process, 20–25 students from all graduate schools will be admitted annually to the 1-year post-graduate Masters in Automobile Design & Management program. At the moment, the curriculum’s precise details are still being finalized. Numerous well-known business executives from the auto industry and other sectors will be on INDEA’s mentor board.
These will include former automotive writer and author Gautam Sen, former Supreme Court of India judge Justice Indira Banerjee, and former Maruti Suzuki India Limited director of engineering I.V. Rao, distinguished fellow at TERI. Avik Chattopadhyay went on to say that INDEA would be a cooperative endeavor between several eminent figures from the automotive sector and would not be for profit.
