PSG substituted Kylian Mbappe in Half Time : PSG Draw At Monaco
Kylian Mbappe, who has been linked to a summer transfer to Real Madrid, was substituted for the second time in as many games. After Friday’s 0-0 draw at Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain jumped to the top of the French league by 12 points. For the majority of the first half, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma had to deny Monaco many decent opportunities as the visiting team was playing at a disadvantage.
After removing their star attacker Kylian Mbappé at halftime, PSG played better in the second half, with Radoslaw Majecki of Monaco being the busier of the two goalies. Mbappé was substituted for the second time in as many games. He has been connected to a summer transfer to Real Madrid. Furthermore, PSG had only failed to score once since September.
PSG advanced 12 points ahead of Brest and 13 ahead of Monaco, meanwhile, as neither team was able to break the tie. In their quest for a third straight Ligue 1 championship, PSG has gone 19 games in the league without losing.

Luis Enrique PSG Manager Takes Decision to Substitute Mbappe:
Kylian Mbappe was taken off the field by PSG manager Luis Enrique during the halftime of their match against AS Monaco.
In their match with AS Monaco, Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, defended his choice to substitute Mbappe at halftime, stating that his squad needed to get used to playing without the Frenchman. Enrique substituted Mbappe early for the second time in as many games, having done it in the 65th minute against Rennes.
Enrique has now fanned the flames by declaring that he felt it was his decision to substitute Mbappe early, allowing his squad to practice playing without their best player.
The PSG manager told the reporters, as cited by ESPN, that it was his choice and he would keep acting in the team’s best interests. “I have been in football long enough, you should know that everything is important in this kind of club,” Enrique told the press. “I’m searching for the best alternative for the team since we will need to play without Mbappé sooner rather than later.

“I’m not always right; occasionally I am. [Playing without Mbappé] is something we have to get used to. I’ll act in my team’s best interests. It’s my choice, and I don’t want to stir up any controversy.”
When he was replaced at halftime in Paris Saint-Germain’s 0-0 draw with Monaco on Friday, the France captain was told to go down “for the good of the team” by his coach, Luis Enrique. Mbappe, who was unharmed, came out of the PSG dressing room at the beginning of the second half, grinning and taking a phone call before sitting in the stand to witness the rest of the match.
Without him, PSG may have been lucky to escape the principality with a draw, but it still gives them a 12-point lead over who plays on Sunday, at the top of the French league. Luis Enrique’s team is mostly focused on Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 second leg away to Real Sociedad, where they take a 2-0 lead from their first encounter last month, even though they are getting one step closer to retaining the French crown.
Given that he has now either started on the bench or been substituted in each of his team’s three games since he informed the Qatar-owned club he would leave at the end of current season, it is unclear what role he will play in that encounter. “It was 100 percent the coach’s decision, because sooner of later we will have to get used to playing without Kylian Mbappe,” stated Luis Enrique.
“I took this decision for the good of the team.” In the second half, Wissam Ben Yedder struck the woodwork for Monaco, and PSG were thankful to goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma on multiple occasions for keeping them in the game.
