BGIS 2024: The Ultimate Guide to India’s Biggest Official Tournament

Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS 2024) third edition was formally announced by KRAFTON India in March 2024. The grind stage will begin in the first week of April, although registration for prospective rookie BGMI players has already begun. It is imperative that players review the official Battlegrounds Mobile India Series guidelines disclosed by the organizers before registering for the competition.

The official Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2024 rulebook has been made public on KRAFTON India’s website ahead of the competition’s launch. When signing up for Battlegrounds Mobile India Series Season 3, players should adhere to the rules on age, nationality, in-game ranking, IGN, and other matters.

Registration BGIS 2024:

Participants must first register, which can be done by visiting the official BGMI website.

Alongside their enrolled teammates, each team is required to participate in fifteen classic matches. Out of these 15, the top 10 performances will be taken into account to determine the top 1,028 teams based on their rankings.

Rules for BGIS:

  • Age: In order to be eligible to participate in a Tournament as a player, an individual must have reached 16 years of age
  • Ranking Requirement. All players on a Team’s roster must have held a ranking for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA of a level 25 and above Platinum V Tier.
  • Nationality Requirement: Players must be Indian Nationals to participate in the Tournament.
  • No KRAFTON or Tournament Organizer Employees Team Members may not be employees of KRAFTON.
  • A player’s team name (or acronym, or any phrase that represents the team name) and player name in the pattern “TEAMNAMEPLAYERNAME” must make up their “Gamer Tags,” or in-game nicknames. For instance, the gamer tag “FSCloudy” can belong to a player named “Cloudy” on the squad “Furious.”Gamer Tag will be chosen at the time of registration and cannot be altered throughout the tournament without the tournament Officials’ prior written consent. The Tournament Operator or KraftTON reserves the right to exclude any word or phrase from a Gamer Tag if it is deemed harmful, offensive, or poisonous.
  • Maximum Requirement for Roster: During an Official Competition, each Team is required to have a minimum of four players in their starting lineup (referred to as “Starters”) at all times. A team may choose to include two(2) more players as “Substitutes” in place of regular players. Any team with an incomplete roster is subject to disqualification by the tournament officials.
  • Captain of the team: When completing the online registration form under the heading “Team Captain,” each team must choose one member to serve as its captain. The team captain will be in charge of all team correspondence with officials from the tournament.
  • It is forbidden to cheat. Any player, team, or other team member is not allowed to alter the Battlegrounds Mobile India game client. It will be considered cheating to employ any form of hardware, gadget, or cheat program, as well as any comparable cheating techniques such as signaling devices, hand signals, etc. It is definitely forbidden to download any cheat software onto the device being used for the Official Competition match. It is also forbidden to purposefully play two or more matches in a row on a public match with another player while knowing that they are employing a cheating program, device, or other similar cheating technique. 
  • Ringing: Playing under another player’s account or Gamer Tag, or soliciting or inducing someone else to play under another player’s account or Gamer Tag, is prohibited.
  • Match-Fixing. No Team Member may offer, agree, or conspire to fix a match or take any other action to intentionally or unfairly alter, or attempt to alter, the results of any Tournament Game (or any play or component thereof). Match-fixing will be subject to a maximum penalty in each instance. If a Team Member is asked to “fix” the outcome of a Tournament Game or to otherwise take part in any actions prohibited by these General Rules or the applicable Competition-Specific Rules, that Team Member must immediately report this request to the Tournament Organizer

Schedule of the Complete Tournament:

THE GRIND:

In The Grind, 256 teams will be invited and grouped into 16 groups. Each group will play 3 matches in 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, based on the overall standings, the 256 teams will be grouped into 16 teams again and play 3 matches for the next 2 weeks. The Top 64 teams based on the cumulative overall standings of the 4 weeks will qualify for the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2024 in the following rounds,

i. 1st –16th Ranked Teams – BGIS Round 4

 ii. 17th – 32nd Ranked Teams – BGIS Round 3 

iii. 33rd – 64th Ranked Teams – BGIS Round 2 

Dates: 4th April – 28th April

ROUND – 1:

 In Round 1, 1024 teams from the In-Game Qualifiers will be grouped into 64 groups. Each group will have 3 matches, and 448 teams i.e., the top 7 teams from each group will advance to Round 2. Additionally, 32 teams based on the overall standings among the remaining teams will also qualify for Round 2. 

Dates: 2nd May – 5th May

ROUND – 2: 

In Round 2, 512 Teams i.e., 480 teams from Round 1 and 32 teams (33rd – 64th ranked) from The Grind will be grouped into 32 groups. Each group will have 6 matches, and 224 teams i.e., the top 7 teams from each group will advance to Round-3. Additionally, the Top 16 teams based on the overall standings among the remaining teams will also qualify for Round 3. 

Dates: 9th May – 12th May

ROUND – 3: 

In Round 3, 256 Teams i.e., 240 teams from Round 2 and 16 teams (17th – 32nd ranked) from The Grind will be grouped into 16 groups. Each 23 group will have 6 matches, and 48 teams i.e., the top 3 teams from each group will advance to Round-4. Additionally, the Top 16 teams based on the overall standings among the remaining teams will have a chance through Wildcard Entry.

16th May – 19th May

ROUND – 4:

 In Round–4, 64 Teams i.e., 48 teams from Round 3 and 16 teams (1st – 16th ranked) from The Grind will be grouped into 4 groups. Each group will have 6 matches, and 16 teams i.e., the top 4 teams from each group will advance to Semi-Finals Week 1. Additionally, 48 remaining teams will have a chance through Wildcard Entry. 

Dates: 23rd May – 26th May

WILDCARD ENTRY:

 In Wildcard Entry, 64 Teams i.e., 48 teams from Round 4 and 16 teams from Round 3 will be grouped into 4 groups. Each group will have 3 matches in 2 days. After 2 days based on the overall standings,64 teams will be grouped again into 4 groups and play 3 matches for the next 2 days. The Top 16 teams based on the cumulative overall standings of the 4 days will advance to Semi-Finals Week 1. 

Dates: 30th May – 2nd June

SEMI-FINALS WEEK 1: 

In Semi-Finals Week 1, 32 Teams i.e., 16 teams from Round 4 and 16 teams from Wildcard Entry will be grouped into 4 groups. They will compete in a Round Robin format over 4 rounds. Each group will play 12 matches, and the Top 8 Top based on the overall standings will advance to the Grand Finals. Additionally, 24 remaining teams will have a chance through the Semi-Finals in Week 2.

 Dates: 6th June – 9th June

SEMI-FINALS WEEK 2:

 In Semi-Finals Week 2, 24 Teams from the Semi-Finals Week 1 will be grouped into 3 groups. They will compete in a Double Round Robin format over 4 rounds. Each group will play 16 matches, and the Top 8 Top based on the overall standings will advance to the Grand Finals.

 Dates: 13th June – 16th June 

GRAND FINALS:

In Grand Finals, 16 Teams i.e., 8 Teams from the Semi-Finals Week 1 and 8 Teams from the Semi-Finals Week 2 will compete in a LAN event. Teams will play 18 matches over 3 days. The top 1 team based on the overall standing will be titled “CHAMPIONS” of the BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA SERIES 2024.

TIPS FOR ONLINE QUALIFIERS: 

1. Create a team that is coordinated, balanced, and skilled enough to play in pairs.

2. Concentrate on finding finishers all over the map and getting chicken dinners every time.

3. Aim for at least 35 finishes on average per game.

4. Steer clear of early drop fights to save lives.

5. Make efficient use of vehicles for transportation and positioning.

6. For best results, think about using the M416 and DBS combination.

7. Play with assurance and lend a hand to your comrades when needed.
